The Guild of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at TLTH also known as the K-guild, is a guild for chemical engineering and biotechnology students at LTH. The guild consists of 600 members and is run only by engineering students. Our students study either a engineering in biotechnology or chemical engineering. These two courses are relatively similar during the first three years with some exceptions in their base. The biotechnology program focuses on laying a broad base in important future areas such as pharmaceutical research, environmental issues, and other topics with the foundation of chemistry and biology in collaboration.

In the Chemical Engineering program you get a complete picture of chemical processes and how they can be applied industrially, from laboratory scale to real industry. During the fourth and fifth year, the students have the opportunity to choose a specialization.
As an engineer in biotechnology, you can specialize in Molecular Biotechnology, Bioprocess, Food, Pharmaceuticals, and project work. As a Chemical Engineer, you can specialize in Materials, Process Design, and Pharmaceuticals. To read more about the education and its qualifications see the following links:

Contact with companies is an essential part of us in the K-guild, as the exchange between students and companies is very important to us. That is why we like to collaborate with companies in many different ways with everything from lunch lectures and the labor market fair to e-mails.
